Bison golfers defeat Bulldogs

McCOOK, Neb. - The McCook girls golf team defeated North Platte High School in a dual Tuesday evening at Heritage Hills Golf Course. McCook had a team score of 178 to North Platte's 206.

The Lady Bison were led by co-champions Kacee Samway and Hannah Kohl. The two golfers posted a score of 41 to tie for top individual honors. Cassidy Redl and Faith Hansen both scored 48, while Holland Stagemeyer recorded a 50.

North Platte's Morgan Lashley finished third place with a 44. Her teammates, Riley Smith and Maggie Lashley, both notched a score of 51. Haley Burford and Lauren Brott were the Bulldogs' other two varsity golfers, and had scores of 60 and 83, respectively.

On the junior varsity front, McCook's Monique Witt recorded a 65, while Kylee Hauxwell scored 69 and Hannah Goltl scored 74. Witt was narrowly edged out by North Platte's Katie Wagner, who scored a 64 to win the individual JV competition. Other members of the Bulldogs' JV squad were Leela Keck (71), Taylor Empfield (74) and Cailey Nutt (78).
