Sales tax defeat would mean prioritization of spending

Assuming the role of a good citizen I attended last Sunday's "Town hall meeting" concerning reauthorization of McCook's 1.5 percent local option sales tax. The spacious training room in the new City Office Complex wasn't exactly crowded. There were only five private citizens, potential "no" voters, present along with about 20 city staff, employees and council members all sure to vote "yes." The atmosphere was congenial and City Manager Nate Schneider gave a nice professional PowerPoint presentation.
