PAXTON, Neb. -- Juliann R. Barger, 59, died Tuesday (April 29, 2014), at her home in Paxton.

She was born Dec. 31, 1954, at Sargent, Nebraska, to Milford and Rae (Smith) Kamery. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1973. She earned a bachelor's degree from Kearney State College. She married Jon Barger on Aug. 6, 1983, at Paxton. She worked as an English teacher at Brule, Nebraska, and later at Sutherland, as an English teacher as well as a speech and drama coach. She later earned her master's degree at the University of Nebraska-Kearney and in 2006, worked with ESU No. 16 and then became the staff development director.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Rhonda Kamery.

Survivors include her husband, Jon Barger of Paxton; children, Zachery and wife, Jennifer Barger of Wichita, Kansas, Alexanne and husband, Daniel Wilkerson of Hershey, Nebraska; brothers, Bill Kamery of Kearney, Nebraska and Mike Kamery of Trenton; three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services were May 3, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Ogallala, Nebraska, with the Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. Interment was at the Paxton Cemetery.
