P.E.O. scholarship

Megan Vetrovsky, a spring graduate of McCook, Neb., Senior High, is the winner of the 2014-2015 International P.E.O. "S.T.A.R. Scholarship." Since the scholarship's creation five years ago, Megan is the third winner from Southwest Nebraska. She was chosen from 1,891 applicants across the nation. The $2,500 S.T.A.R. Scholarship recognizes the accomplishments of young women who are graduating high school and who plan to pursue secondary education. Megan demonstrates excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for success in the future. Megan has chosen to continue her golf career and college education at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She is the daughter of Rhonda Vetrovsky and Larry Vetrovsky. Ann Trail and Pam Wolford, from the left, and Connie Padgett, on the right, are members of Chapter F.A. of McCook who congratulated Megan. The aim of P.E.O. International is helping women achieve their educational goals.
