Annie Trail of McCook, Nebraska, front left, delivers a check for $10,000 to Camp Norwesca director Valerie Rahrs, for the replacement of the roof on the chapel at Camp Norwesca near Chadron, Neb. Annie and Patty Keene, also of McCook, created and sold "Protestant prayer beads" to help the camp replace the chapel roof damaged in a forest fire almost three years ago. Rahrs, said "Praise the Lord on High! This roof will now be replaced by a steel roof, one that will not be affected by fire and water! We are so blessed by Ann and Patty of McCook UMC. We are truly thankful for their time and talents!" It took Annie and Patty nine months to raise the funs to replace the roof. Annie says that God has put a new project on her heart, and she plans to help refurbish rustic cabins -- $3,800 each -- at Camp Comeca near Cozad. So the sale of prayer beads will continue. To purchase Ann's and Patty's beads, contact Annie at (308) 340-3578. The beads sell for $5, $10, $15, $20 and $25. All proceeds go to the Camp Comeca cabin project.
