Trenton fire department plans predator calling contest

TRENTON, Nebraska -- The Trenton, Nebraska, Fire Department plans its first-ever fund-raiser predator calling contest.

Each coyote, bobcat and fox called in and shot during official hunting hours on Saturday, Dec. 14, will earn one point. No trapped or dog-run animals will be allowed. The top three two-man teams will win prize money.

Check-in will be no later than 7 p.m., at the Trenton ambulance barn. A tie-breaker will be decided by the earliest check-in time.

All Nebraska Game and Parks Commission hunting laws apply. Animals can be taken no earlier than one-half hour before sunrise and no later than one-half hour after sunset.

The hunters will retain ownership of their animals
