A sale for the dogs
Madison Dowd, an adoptee from the McCook, Nebraska, Humane Society, sits in front of an over-the-couch landscape print that will be for sale during a garage sale Friday and Saturday in McCook. Annette Irwin of Omaha, formerly of McCook, will sell her father Otto Nilsson's unusual lifetime collection of items Friday, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., behind the blue doors in the alley behind the Rutt Building at 417 and 419 West B in McCook; or across the street east of McCook Christian Church or one-half block southeast of the new City of McCook fire station/police department. Some of the items for sale will be original artwork and frames, marble countertops, a drinking fountain and a sink mounted with a drinking fountain, flocked wallpaper, flooring, doors for all purposes, and collectible shop signs and pegboard organizers from Otto's automotive business. No checks will be accepted; early birds pay double. Annette will donate proceeds from the sale to the McCook Humane Society, whose board president is Madison's human, Anne Dowd.
