Tuesday, February 19, 2013

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The City of McCook is requesting assistance from citizens during their preparation for a snowfall predicted for Wednesday and Thursday.

City staff is asking citizens to remove vehicles from streets, specifically the emergency snow routes which are marked by signs accordingly.

The severity of the storm forecast may require the city to plow numerous times, according to a press release from city staff.

A reminder was included that sidewalks should be cleared within 24 hours of cessation of the snow. City staff also requested residents not deposit snow onto city streets, explaining that it can create a driving hazard and cause melting snow to dam up and create flooding issues.
