Zachary Adam 'Zach' Messinger

April 30, 1991 -- Sept. 23, 2012

LONGMONT, Colorado -- Zachary Adam "Zach" Messinger passed away Sept. 23, 2012, at the age of 21.

Zach was born April 30, 1991 to Lance F. and Cheryl A. (Boetger) Messinger in Longmont, Colorado. Zach grew up in Longmont attending Central Elementary, Westview Middle, and Longmont High Schools where he graduated in 2009. While attending Longmont High, Zach played on the varsity soccer team. He also played club soccer.

Zach attended Montana State University for two years before beginning his pursuit of a career in welding at the Lincoln School of Technology. He also worked part time for his father at Downhole Tool Service.

Zach always enjoyed his annual family trips to Lake Powell, powerboating with his dad, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and skateboarding. Zach loved spending time with his fiancée Sreya, and his dogs, King and Bernie. Zach had an enormous heart and was a wonderful son, loving brother, and caring friend to all those fortunate to have known him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gloria Messinger.

Zach is survived by his parents, Lance and Cheryl Messinger of Longmont, Colorado; his sisters, Lindsey Messinger of Lincoln, Nebraska and Mandi Messinger of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his fiancée, Sreya Mehreen; his grandparents, Roger Messinger of McCook, Nebraska and Lowell and Mary Boetger of Omaha, Nebraska; his uncles, Dr. Bruce Messinger of Boulder, Colorado, Craig Messinger of McCook, Nebraska, Roger Boetger of Omaha and Tim Boetger of Omaha, and his cousins, Sarah, Tim, Marie, Alex, Samantha, and Benjamin.

Memorial services will be on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mountain Christian Church in Niwot, Colorado. Interment at Ryssby Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Longmont Humane Society. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
