Aug. 18, 1949--Dec. 23, 2010

LA MESA, California -- Sharon Dianne (Seybold) Rotter was called to heaven by our Creator on the morning of Dec. 23, 2010, after losing her two year battle with colon cancer. She passed quietly at her home in La Mesa with her immediate family by her side.

Sharon was born Aug. 18, 1949, in McCook, Nebraska to her parents, Elmer "Swede" Seybold and Gertrude (Jones) Seybold. She attended Trenton Grade School and graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Nebraska.

On Jan. 2, 1967, she married Roger Rotter and moved to San Diego, California, where Roger was serving in the U.S. Navy. From this union they had a son, Anthony "Tony" Rotter.

Sharon continued her higher education and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University. Sharon worked for the Navy as a civil servant until she retired after 25 years. She continued to work in the computer field until her illness forced her to retire.

Sharon enjoyed doing her crafts -- knitting, beading, scrapbooking, stained glass and stamping to name a few. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting with all her friends and relatives. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by Roger, her husband of 44 years; son, Tony; daughter-in-law, Kimberly; granddaughter, Moxie; sister, Louise (McNair) Dillow; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Gertrude Seybold; brothers, Robert, Dick and Floyd McNair.

Rest peacefully in heaven Sharon, your suffering is now over. Your heart can now rest.

Two memorial services are planned. The first is Friday, Jan. 7, 1 p.m., at Santa Sophia Catholic Church in Spring Valley, California. The second will be in the spring of 2011 in Trenton. The details will be announced on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Sharon's memory to the American Cancer Society.
