Workers prepare to take down the sign that reads "Right Turn Permitted Without Stopping," at the west junction of Highways 6-34 and 83 in McCook, Nebraska, late Wednesday morning. The "free right turn" is no longer allowed because of the addition of a new sidewalk and pedestrian crossing at the intersection. Right turns will be controlled with the new traffic signal, right.

  • I'd like to know exactly how many people will actually utilize this cross walk light and the newly constructed sidewalk to Walmart at the expense of several dozen people in one day trying to keep traffic flowing by turning right on red? Was this really necessary? This in my opinion was an absolutely waste and total inconvenience.

  • Hey, I saw someone using it just yesterday, lady on a hover-round, pulling a cart and heading to Walmart, those things must have really good batteries

  • Yeah, why say to businesses we'll help get as much traffic to you as possible.

I always thought they should have put a sidewalk to wal-mart from day one.

  • Haven't seen many use the new walkway. Only the one with the battery powered chair and cart. With time, we all will see if it was worth it....
