OBERLIN -- Glenva Nichols, 73, died Sunday (Nov. 8, 2009), at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

She was born March 13, 1936, at Oberlin, to Floyd and Ruth (Nicodemus) Laidig. She was raised on a farm in the Harlan Township of Decatur County, Kan. She attended rural schools in Harlan Township and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1954.

She farmed in Decatur County and Oberlin and was a bookkeeper.

On Dec. 7, 1984, she married Harold Nichols in Oberlin.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vicky Bogner; a grandson, Chris Bogner; and a granddaughter, Charlie Bogner.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Oberlin; sons, Gene and wife, Tonya Tally of Oberlin, Gerry and wife, Theresa Tally of Oberlin, Rick and wife, Pam Nichols of Lebanon; daughter, Deb Farr of North Platte; sister, Janice and husband, Ernie Mehl of North Platte; step-sister, Fausta Walker of Arvada, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Burial will follow at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, 8 a.m.-8p.m., and Wednesday, 8 a.m., until the time of the service.
