Elizabeth F. Thompson, 19, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the Childrens Memorial Hospital in Omaha, Neb. She was born on June 28, 1990, in Omaha.

Elizabeth attended Buffalo Grade School in North Platte for two years, then moved to Wauneta where she attended the Wauneta-Palisade Public Schools.

She had heart transplant surgery on Oct. 16, 2003, in Denver, Colo.

She attended high school at Boys Town High School and graduated in December, 2008. She has lived in McCook for the past six months.

Elizabeth loved her cats and dogs and enjoyed music, shopping and being with friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gilbert C. Thompson; grandmother Hazel E. Kramer and a brother, Danial J. Thompson.

Elizabeth leaves to mourn her passing, parents Wesley Thompson (Michelle Coffin) of North Platte and Aneta (Robin) Engel of Wauneta; companion Robert Engel of McCook; step-sisters, Jackie (Bill) Taylor of Madrid and Pvt. Dena Engel of Fort Hood, Texas; grandmother, Sharon L. Thompson of North Platte; grandfather, Robert F. Kramer (Doris) of Stapleton; aunts, uncles, four nephews: Robert Engel Jr. and Huntin, Henry and Billy Taylor and a host of cousins.

Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at the Doud Catholic Church at Boys Town and a memorial service on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 3rd & Vine, North Platte, Neb.

There was no visitation.

Elizabeth touched many hearts with her faith and life.
