Malleck, Southwest roll on Kearney Catholic 36-26

BARTLEY -- Southwest's Justin Malleck was too hot handle for the Kearney Catholic Stars Friday night in the Roughriders 36-26 victory.

Malleck ran for two touchdowns, returned both a punt and kickoff and passed to Heath Teel for scores.

Malleck finished the game rushing 29 times for 153 yards and more than 200 return yards.

"We had them down 30 points in the start of the fourth quarter," said Southwest coach Les Roggenkamp.

"In second half we let up a little bit and let them in the back door and gave up three touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

"We were able to get a couple first downs and run down the clock."

The Southwest Roughriders improve to 3-2 on the season.

The Roughriders will travel to Elm Creek next Friday.
