Ready for the Home Show

Friday, February 20, 2009

Linda Frank, coordinator of the McCook Area Chamber of Commerce's Home and Leisure Show, helps Dick Geier of Endicott Clay Products set up his booth, one of about 75 at this year's show at the U.S. Army Reserve Center on Airport Road in McCook. Geier, now of Omaha, said Endicott has provided a lot of brick for construction in McCook -- including the Gazette building -- but also has big markets in Chicago and New York. In fact, the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City was built with Endicott bricks, he said. The company also has done about 100 sculpted murals a year, including the 20th Century Veterans Memorial in North Platte. The show is open from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $2, with drawings for two $250 certificates to be spent with home show vendors.
