McCook 7th, 8th girls team compete at Holdrege, Ogallala

McCook's seventh and eighth grade girls competed in Holdrege and Ogallala last week.

Moriah Salyer and McKenzie Schmitz led the Bison eighth graders in the 100 meter in Holdrege. Salyer was fifth with a time of 14.37 and Schmitz was ninth with 14.65.

Jasmine Fassler took eighth in the 200 meter with 30.63 and Kalie Kennedy was number 16 in the 400 meter with 1:19.69.

Amanda Brush finished eighth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:58.19 and Taylor Hansen was third in the long jump with 13-4.5. Hansen also took third in the 75 meter hurdles with a time of 14.27 and Madison Koepke was 13th with 15.52.

Megan Rokusek was second in the triple jump with 27-4.5, Rachel Bradley followed in seventh with 26-6.5 and Whitney Sis was sixth in the shot put with a throw of 23-0.

Fassler, Rokusek, Salyer and Hansen teamed up to take third in the 4x100 relay with a time of 58.3. Rokusek and Bradley teamed up with Riley Allen and Kelsey Woitaszewski to take 10th in the 4x400 with 5:13.4

Rachel Goltl was a triple event winner and Megan Ruppert was a double event winner for the seventh grade girls. Ruppert took eighth in the 1600-meter run with 7:01.28 and was seventh in the long jump with 13-1.25. Goltl was fourth in the 20 meter with 33-26, ninth in the 200 meter in 30.91 and 10th in the long jump with 12-3.05.

Madison Chitwood finished seventh in the pole vault with 5-6 and Kassidy Gillen was 13th in the 100 meter with a time of 15.1.

Riley Allen and Amber Hilker competed in the 400 meter. Allen was eighth with 1:16.4 and Hilker was 14th with 1:18.6. Mariah Poore took eighth in the 200 meter with a time of 35-0 and Kelsey Woitaszewski was 16th with 38.74.

Hansen and Sis each placed in three events for the eighth grade girls in the Ogallala meet. Sis won the 195 meter hurdles with a time of 38.79 and was fourth in the 75 meter hurdles with 16.2 and sixth in the shot put with 21.3. Hansen also took home a first place finish in the long jump with 13-11.4. Hansen was second in the 75 meter hurdles with 14.3 and third in the 100 meter with 14.7.

Double event placers were Fassler, Rokusek, Michelle Tinglum, Sierra Ortiz and McKenzie Schmitz. Fassler took second in the 200 meter with a time of 29.4 and was third in the high jump with 4-0. Rokusek took third in the triple jump with 25-3 and was fifth in the 100 meter with 15.12.

Schmitz finished fifth in the long jump with 12-7 and was fourth in the 100 meter with 15.1. Tinglum joined fellow teammates in the 100 meter taking seventh with a time of 15.6 and was seventh in the high jump with 3-6. Ortiz competed in the discus taking fourth with a throw of 55-3 and was eighth in the long jump with 11-11.5.

Amanda Brush won the 800 meter for the Bison with a time of 3:03.5 and Chynna Younger was sixth with 3:35.0. Haylee Carfield took third in the shot put with 22-3 and Kalie Kennedy was third in the 400 meter with 1:20.7.

Rachel Bradley finished fourth in the triple jump with 24-7.75 and Madison Koepke was second in the 195 meter hurdles with 38.86.

The Bison took first in the 4x100 relay with a run time of 57.1 and were second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 5:46.

The seventh grade girls took home six first place finishes in the Ogallala meet. Madison Chitwood was a double medal winner. Chitwood won the pole vault with 5-6 and the high jump with 4-3. Chitwood was second in the 75 meter hurdles with a time of 14.14. Kassidy Gillen finished first in the 100 meter with a run time of 15.21 and was second in the shot put with a throw of 23-8.

Megan Ruppert took the long jump with 14-1.25 and Rachel Goltl won the 195 meter hurdles in 34.4. Ruppert also finished third in the 1600 meter run with 6:52.06. Goltl followed Ruppert in second place in the long jump with 13-6 and was fourth in the 200 meter with 30-7.

Katrina Stewart won the triple jump for the Bison. Stewart's jump was 21-1.5 Hollie Eiler finished fifth in the 100 meter with 15.7 and was fourth in the long jump with 11-11. Mariah Poore took sixth in the long jump with 11-10.5, was third i the 195 meter hurdles with 37-0 and was seventh in the 75 meter hurdles with 17.3.

Amber Hilker took eighth in the 200 meter with 33.54 and finished sixth behind Allen in the 400 meter with a time of 1:20.5. Allen's time in the 400 was 1:14.1. She also took fourth in the 75 meter hurdles with 15.8.

Courtney Steer took seventh place in the 100 meter with 15.9 and fifth in the high jump with 4-0. Kyla Krepcik was third in the 75 meter hurdles with 15.8 and Andee Noltensmeier was fourth in the high jump with 3-9. Kelsey Woitaszewski finished sixth in the 195 meter hurdles with a time of 39.12 and was seventh in the high jump with 3-9

Shot put competitors were fourth place finisher Cathy Edmundson with 22-5.5, Sarah Larington at fifth with 19-5.5, Shelby Henthorn following in sixth with 19-5 and Britanny Broomfield was seventh with 19-0.

The Bison seventh graders finished second in both relays. The girls time in the 4x100 relay was 58.96 and 5:25.2 in the 4x400.
