Doris C. Griffin - Morgan

Doris C. Griffin - Morgan died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at Community Hospital in McCook, at the age of 82.

She was born Dec. 5, 1924, at Augusta, Kan., to Alvin and Iva (McKitrick) Stapleton. After graduating from high school, she attended St. Rose Nurses Training in Great Bend, Kan.

She married Clifford F. Griffin on Jan. 2, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1989. Doris was a homemaker who was active in her church and community.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, PEO, TTT, Genealogy Society and she served on the board of the McCook Library.

Before retiring, she worked at Bryan Memorial Hospital and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. On March 18, 2006, she exchanged vows with Dr. Don Morgan of McCook, who survives her.

Three sons, William and wife, Lynda Griffin of Tucumcari, N.M., Thomas and wife, Patricia Griffin of Springfield, Mo., and Wesley Griffin of Muskogee, Okla.; four grandchildren, Robert, Caroline, Tim and Eric Griffin; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorene Kulbiski of Dodge City, Kan., and Patty Phillips of Wichita, Kan.; along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends, also survive her.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Albans Episcopal Church in McCook. Inurnment will be at a later date,

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may sign her register at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook until 9 p.m. today.
