Maywood Tigers rip Paxton 42-14

MAYWOOD -- Maywood's football team rolled past Paxton 42-14 Friday night.

Paxton took the lead in the first quarter with a 1 yard run and scored in the second. Maywood fired back in the second quarter with four touchdowns.

Maywood's Kelvin Arent led the first two plays with a 43-yard run and a 3-yard run and made the extra point.

Maywood's Daniel Stinman had a 5-yard run and caught a 25-yard TD pass from Whitman, taking the game 26-14 into the second half.

Whitman scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter and threw a 32-yard TD pass to Arent.

The Tigers kept Paxton scoreless in the third and both were scoreless in the fourth, giving the Tigers the win.

Stinman led the team in rushing with 110 yards and had 11 tackles. Whitman passed for 86 yards. Arent had 36 yards receiving and made 15 tackles on defense.

Maywood plays at Loomis Friday.
