KANONA, Kan., -- Marvin was born in Kanona, Kan. He spent his adolescence in McCook, which he always considered home. His youth was spent riding the rails of America and he visited almost every state in the union before returning to McCook. He was a Merchant Marine and served in World War II in the Air Force.

He moved to Denver, Colo., and had numerous jobs including working for Gates Rubber Co before he found his life's calling, the Department of Motor Vehicles. He was a drivers' license examiner and an administrative judge up until his retirement.

He died June 17, 2007, and is buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, his second wife, Jane, his son, Michael, and his brothers, Aubrey and Jerry.

He is survived by his brother, Curtis, his daughter, Lucinda, and his son, Tom.
