Top area spikers to compete in 16th annual Sertoma Classic

Friday, June 8, 2007

The 16th Annual Sertoma All-Star Volleyball Classic gets underway at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 16 when 25 of the area's recently graduated volleyball stars meet at McCook High School.

Jennifer Baker of Hitchcock County and Bill Wilson of Dundy County will coach the West Team, with Rachelle Chamberlain of Eustis-Farnam and Les Reinke of Maxwell taking the reins of the East Team.

Each team will get four practices during the week with the key to success being how quickly and effectively they become a team.

Admission to the classic is $6 for adults, $3 for students. Children 5 and under are free.

Proceeds from this event are used by the McCook Area Sertoma Club to help purchase equipment to provide speech and hearing screenings in the area schools and day care centers.
