No New Year's Baby -- just yet

Wednesday, January 3, 2007

As of press time today, Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas apparently don't have a "New Year's Baby."

The first baby born after midnight, Monday, Jan. 1, is eligible to win the Gazette's "First Baby of 2007" title.

Because hospitals cannot release information about newborns, parents or other family members must contact the Gazette with pertinent information -- the baby's name, parents' names, time and place of birth, doctor and hospital.

To submit a new baby's statistics, contact the Gazette: (308) 345-4500, extension 113 and leave a message if necessary; fax, (308) 345-7881, attention Connie; or e-mail: cdiscoe@mccookgazette.com

The contest will continue on a day-by-day basis until the first baby arrives.

The new baby will receive $25 gift certificates from: Eakes Office Plus, Southwest Implement, Pizza Hut/Taco Bell/KFC, Phones Etc., Alanna's Therapeutic Massage, Fuller's Restaurant, Unique Boutique, McCook National Bank and Farrell's of McCook and Big Mama's/Big Papa's and Mark's Pharmacy/Shirley K's of Cambridge.
