Cambridge Invitational: Wauneta-Palisade boys, Southern Valley girls capture championships

CAMBRIDGE -- The Wauneta-Palisade boys basketball team coasted past Hitchcock County 65-33 in the Cambridge Tournament championship games Tuesday.

Both teams went into the contest undefeated.

The Broncos had four players in double figures with Andrew Isom scoring 14 points, Marc Klima 14.

Taylor Dixon and Russell Ridlen added 11 each.

Josh Kershaw led the Warriors with 10 points.

Brock Einspahr led the Eagles with 13 points, Matt Hoxmeier had 12 and Jared Maruhn had 10.

Dillion Mowry scored 12 for the Trojans.

Mallory Murdoch led the Eagles with 18 points.

Shelby Schultz netted 18 points and snagged 10 rebounds.

Kymbre Lytle added 12 points for the Trojans.

HAYES CENTER -- The boys and girls basketball games at Hayes Center between the host Cardinals and Sutherland Tuesday night were postponed because of weather.

The games will be played Jan. 23.

Wallace sweeps

WALLACE -- The Wallace boys and girls basketball teams swept Medicine Valley Tuesday night at Wallace.

The Wildcat boys won 70-27 and the girls won 41-34.
