CORVALLIS, Ore -- Wilda Blake Modrell, 91, died Saturday (June 24, 2006).

She was born Feb. 26, 1915, to Charles and Jenny Blake of McCook. She was the 14th of 15 children and was preceded in death by all her siblings.

On Oct. 6, 1934, she married Marshall Modrell. They moved to Corvallis in 1947, where she worked various jobs including 23 years for Dr. George Drost. She was a member of the Recycling Band.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marshall, May 1998, and all 14 siblings.

Survivors include her children Devona and Art Johnson of Oceanside, Calif.; Joyce and Dave Gambee of Portland, Ore.; Ronald and Mona Modrell of Philomouth, Ore.; Eldon and Judy Modrell of Corvallis, Ore.; Linda and Bob Buchanan of Oceanside, Calif.; a nephew, Duane and wife Lilly Lashley of Corvallis, Ore.; 19 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews in McCook that were all special to her.

A memorial service will be at Twin Oaks Mausoleum at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
