TRENTON-- Elizabeth Rose Colling died Wednesday, (March 22, 2006) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney at the age of 81.

She was born Jan. 6, 1925, on a farm near Culbertson in Hitchcock County, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Pope) Marquart. She grew up on the family farm and graduated in 1943 from Culbertson High School.

On April 13, 1947, Elizabeth married Lowell James Colling in Oberlin, Kan. They spent 58 wonderful years together raising a family. They worked together for several years operating a family owned business, the Soo Paw Cafe and Service Station in Trenton.

One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Marquart, Dean Marquart and Harry Marquart; and five sisters, Dollie Cross, Edna Cross, Eunice Johnson, Ferne Hafner and Violette Martin.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Lowell Colling of Trenton; one son, Joseph Colling and his wife Jennifer of Kearney; two daughters, Cathy Barger and husband, James of Culbertson and Julie Wickizer and husband, Jack of Fremont; nine grandchildren, Christian Colling and wife, Melinda of Loveland, Colo., Megan Colling of Kearney, Troy Barger of Palisade and fiance, Lori Harris of Middletown, Ohio, Scott Barger and wife, Tyra of Kearney, Jeffery Barger of Kearney, Elizabeth Klein and husband, Steven of Elwood, Eric Wickizer of Lincoln, Dustin Wickizer of Tilden, and Cindy Wragge and husband, Trent of Nickerson; three great-grandchildren, Anna, Mary, and Franklin Wickizer of Lincoln; nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday at the Church of God in Trenton, with Pastor Darwin Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery at Trenton.

The casket will not be open at the ceremony.
