LINCOLN -- Cross County had trouble taking care of the basketball Friday night.

Megan Allison and Jenna Allison made sure it didn't matter.

Megan Allison scored 26 points and sister Jenna added 18 points and 13 rebounds as the Cougars (23-1) overcame 19 turnovers to defeat Cambridge 58-45 Friday night in the semifinals of the Class D1 girls state basketbll tournament.

"We could not find our rhythym. We weren't on top of our game in the first half at all," Megan Allison said. "To rally back from that is awesome."

Cambridge (17-6) made only 7-of-30 shots in the first half, offsetting Cross County's turnover woes.

Megan Allison scored nine points in the first half and Jenna Allison eight to stake Cross County to leads of 9-8 after one period and 23-16 at the half.

"We just couldn't buy a bucket and do the things we wanted to do," Cambridge coach Andy Long said. "Their size intimidated us a little bit. It seemed like when we'd score they'd have an answer for us coming back."

The Allisons added six points each in the third period to move the Cougar lead to 38-31, then Megan Allison added 11 more in the fourth to secure Cross County's win.

Bailey Soucie paced the Trojans with 13 points and Traci Keyser added 10.

"There are no words to describe this," Cross County coach Frank Samuleson said. "The first time ever at Devaney."
