MCC softball

team announces

fundraiser

In conjunction with the start of softball season, the McCook Community College softball team has announced an early spring fundraiser by raffling off a quarter of beef.

MCC softball coach Della Mitchel said her team is selling $5 tickets for a chance to win the beef or five tickets for $20.

The beef was donated by Gary Malone.

The coach said proceeds from this fund-raiser will go toward establishing a full-ride softball scholarship fund.

The winner will be announced at MCC's March 5 game against Western Nebraska Community College, which starts at 2 p.m. at the Jaycee Sports Complex.

Tickets are available at Brown's Shoe Fit, The Sports Shoppe and McCook National Bank and by contacting any MCC softball player or coach Mitchel at 345-8146.

MCC baseball team

recycling old

cell phones,

print cartridges

As part of its fund-raising efforts this year, the MCC baseball team is collecting used cell phones, used printer ink cartridges and laser cartridges to recycle.

The team will collect these items in conjunction with its third annual bowl-a-thon and silent auction Saturday and Sunday.

Anyone who brings an old cell phone or old ink cartridge to Willow Lanes Sunday can bowl for free thanks to lane sponsors footing the cost.

Proceeds from the recycling effort as well as the Bowl-A-Thon and silent auction will be used to help with field renovations at the Jaycee Sports Complex, equipment purchases and to help pay for a portion of the team's spring trip to Texas March 16-19.

For more information, contact MCC baseball coach Jeremy Jorgensen at 345-8128.
