Sellers, Vakiner wedding

Kelsey and Dustin Vakiner

Kelsey Sellers and Dustin Vakiner, both of Central City, were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating.

Parents of the couple are Pam Sellers and Paul Sellers of McCook and Clifford and Donna Vakiner of Snyder.

Grandparents of the couple are Art and Pat Koetter of McCook, Esther Sellers of Maywood and Vernice Vakiner of Snyder.

The bride wore a floor-length, ivory satin gown featuring wine embroidery lace and beading falling from the banded strapless neckline. Banded layers fell down the split semi-cathedral train. She carried a fresh bouquet of gerber daisies and roses with autumn accents.

Keri Schmoker of McCook served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brooke Berls of Erie, Penn., Sara Brown and Deanna Moody, both of McCook. They wore wine-colored, floor-length gowns. They each carried a bouquet of gerber daisies with fall accents.

Trenton Vakiner of Blair served as best man. Bridegroomsmen were Brandon Vakiner of Coralville, Iowa, Nathan Prenzlow of Blair and Matt Sellers of McCook. They wore black tuxedos with wine-colored vests.

The flowergirl was Makenna Dirkschneider of Omaha. She wore an ivory, floor-length gown with wine-colored accents matching the bride's gown. The ringbearer was Grant Chase of York. He wore a black tuxedo with a wine-colored vest.

Ushers were Drew Santin of Omaha, Justin Kummer of Lincoln, Brandon Dirkschneider of Omaha and Mitch Sellers of McCook.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Luann Ortmeier of West Point and soloist Jill Gries of Omaha. Shannon Trouba of Gretna was the lector for the readings and during Mass. Acolytes were Joe Koetter and Dale Hofman.

Program attendants were Blair Brown and Jimmy Barron. Guestbook and gift attendants were Samantha Brown of McCook and Shelby Mendlik of Omaha. Carly Mendlik of Omaha and Britni and Jasmyn Broussard of Snyder passed out balloons and bubbles.

A dinner and dance reception took place at the Community Building in McCook. Host couples were Janet and Dan Krienert of Scribner and Carrie and Todd Case of York. Cake servers were Barb Brown and Sharon Kummer, both of of McCook, and Cheryl Vacha of Snyder.

The couple is planning a May honeymoon to Jamaica. They will make their home in Central City.
