Wood selected as finalist

Red Willow County attorney Paul Wood has been selected as one of the finalists for appointment to the vacant seat for District court, 11th Judicial District.

Wood was selected from seven candidates seeking the the district judge position, left vacant by the retirement of John Battershell.

Other candidates forwarded to Gov. Dave Heineman by the Judicial Nominating Commission were Jeffrey Meyer of North Platte, and David Urbom of Arapahoe.

Heineman will interview the three nominees in the next few weeks before making his decision.
