Bison cross country teams both place 7th at Class B-6 district competition
GERING -- The Bison boys and girls finished seventh in the Nebraska Class B-4 District Cross Country meet in Gering Thursday.
The district meet took place at Monument Shadows Golf Course.
Gering took first in the girls divison and third in the boys. Scottsbluff's boys finished first and the girls third.
"The season has come to an end," saich Bison Coach Tom Sughroue. "I thought we could have ran better, but the Gering course was a little deceiving, it appears to be a lot flater than it acutally is.
"The first 1000 meters are up hill making the course a very large challenge. The remainder is a mix between down hill and short up hills.
"I think the elevation change and a long ride had a lot to do with our performance. All and all we had a good season."
Rebecca Rawlings just missed the top 15, coming in 18th.
Ryan Ankersen finished 21st and Cody Martin 25th for the boys.
