Broncos outslug Hayes Center

HAYES CENTER -- Wauneta-Palisade outslugged the Hayes Center Cardinals 54-48 in eight-man football action Friday night at Hayes Center.

The Broncos trailed in the first quarter but pulled ahead in the second and third.

The Broncos had 37 carries, six completions, nine attempts, four penalties and one fumble recovery. Hayes Center carried 59 times, had nine completions, 13 attempts, and 5 penalties.

"This was size vs speed and we just couldn't keep up with the scoring tempo. Both teams executed well on offense for a first game. This has to be an exciting game to watch, said Coach Jim Cole.
