The new booster station for west McCook is lifted into place Wednesday by Doak Construction's large crane. The $250,000 facility, constructed by Engineered Fluid Inc. of Centralia, Ill., will replace a smaller booster station which has been in use since 1964. Jesse Dutcher, McCook's utility director, said the new booster station will be put into service before Oct. 1. The station picks up water from the low side of the system, and lifts it for use in the west water tank.
