Dundy County girls rip Alma

BENKELMAN -- The Dundy County girls basketball team handed the Alma Cardinals a 43-32 setback Monday night at Benkelman.

The host Tigers led 21-12 at halftime and increased their lead to 32-20 after three quarters.

Alison Glidden and Amber Morris each scored 13 points for the Tigers. Glidden pulled down 8 rebounds and Morris 5.

Morris made the team's only 3-pointer.

Echo Steele added 7 points, Heather Morris 6 and Brooke Olson 4.

Olson grabbed 6 rebounds and Steele 5. Amber Morris dished off 4 assists.

The Tigers forced the Cardinals into 32 turnovers and committed just 12.

Glidden had 4 steals, Steele 3, Amber Morris 2 and Emily Hudson 1.

The Tigers connected on 20-of-40 field goal attempts (50 percent)

Whitney Ehrke led Alma with 10 poiints and Kelly Hays added 6.

A bright spot for the Cardinals was their effort at the free throw line.

Alma made 10-of-13 foul shots and Dundy County attempted just three charities, making two.

Dundy County plays at Southern Valley Thursday.

The Tigers host Republican Valley Friday to wrap up the regular season schedule.
