Uninsured belongings lost in fire

A McCook woman and her two sons lost most of their belongings in a house fire Monday, and have no insurance, according to the McCook City and Volunteer Fire Department.

The Red Cross is assisting Cherri Jumps and her two sons, 13 and 15, and housing has been found, according to Barb Ostrum of Mid Nebraska Community Action Partnership Inc.

Their mobile home, owned by Shane Wilson of Littleton, Colo., was destroyed by a fire apparently caused by a heat gun used to thaw out frozen pipes.
