Rep Valley hands loss to Dundy County

INDIANOLA -- Repoublican Valley defeated Dundy County 15-7, 15-10 Tuesday in a battle of ranked Class D1 teams at the Republican Valley High School gym.

Republican Valley's Brittany McConville served 6 points (with 1 ace), had 24 ace sets and 6 digs.

Lindsay Esch served 2 points and added 5 digs.

Caitlin Schaffert served 6 points (with 2 aces), had 12 kills and 8 digs. Cayla Skaritka had 3 kills.

Savannah Noyes served 5 points and added 11 kills, 5 digs and 3 ace blocks. Jaime Coolidge served 2 points and added 6 digs and 2 ace blocks.

Bronwyn Skaritka served 2 points and 10 points, and added 1 set assist and 1 dig.

Chelsea Morgan had 3 kills and 5 ace blocks.

For Dundy County, Alison Glidden was 10-for-12 in serves with 5 points and 1 ace.

Amber Morris was 9-of-9 with 4 points. Annette Case was 74-of-75 in sets with 22 assists.

Glidden had 11 kills, Avery Lutz 6, Brooke Olson 5 and Emily Hudson 3.

"It was a tough match between to state-rated teams," said Republican Valley volleyball coach Dennis Troester.

"We played very well in Set 1. In Set 2, neither team could pull away.

"Dundy County hurt themselves with missed seves in the second set. We pulled away from a 10-8 lead in the second set for the win."

Republican Valley improved to 20-1 and will play in the Class D1-10 district tournament Monday and Tuesday at Cozad.

Dundy County, 18-4, is assigned to the Class D1-11 district tournament Monday and Tuesday at Ogallala.
