Mary Ann Christner

Mary Ann Christner, 69, died Thursday (March 27, 2003) at her home in McCook.

She was born Jan. 26, 1935, at Oxford, to Cleatus Andrew and Annette (Swanson) Wasson. She graduated from Oxford High School and attended Hastings College.

On Nov. 8, 1953, she married Kenneth D. Christner. To this union three children were born. She was employed for many years in public relations with the Denver Seminary.

She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church in Littleton, Colo.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Cleatus and Annette Wason; and her husband, Kenneth in 1986.

Survivors include her daughter, Cherrie and husband, Tony Lucero, of Colorado; two sons, Brent Christner and wife, Jan, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Craig Christner and wife, Cheryl, of McCook; brother, Gene Wasson and wife, Donna, of Boulder, Colo.; sister, Donita Miller of Georgia; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. James Presbyterian Church, Denver, Colo.

Graveside services were today, 2 p.m., at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of arrangements.
