Leave pets at home

Monday, June 3, 2002

People just don't get it.

Leave your pets at home when its hot.

Sunday, we observed a white poodle in a dark blue Suburban in the Wal Mart parking lot with two windows cracked a couple of inches while the owners were happily shopping.

Someone cared enough to inform the police and that person shoul d be commended

While taking your beloved pet is often a real treat for them, it is best to do it on a cool day.

Pet's temperatures can rise at an alarming rate in a vehicle or without shade because of their fur.

They can overheat and die within minutes because they cannot perspire as we do.

It's like putting on winter coat and setting in that hot vehicle.

If you love your pet, leave them at home. They will anxiously await your return.

Outdoor pets should be given plenty of fresh water and checked often.

Treat them as though they were children. Love and enjoy them for a lifetime.
