United Way meets goal

Thursday, January 16, 2003

Dear Editor,

The McCook United Way fund drive met its goal of $81,000 for 2002. Despite our current drought, difficult economic times and local financial needs, our citizens and busineesses found a way to make the donations necessary to meet this goal. The money raised stays in our community to help fund 19 local agencies which provided needed help to youth, families and food service agencies. Our community should recognize this effort with a feeling of pride and accomplishment. The United Way board and many volunteers offer their thanks to everyone who made their contributions to this year's fund drive.

Thank you,

Bill Marshall,
