Scenic Bolles Canyon site of spring wedding

Tonia Jo Rippen and Brent Lee Hazlitt were united in marriage May 25, 2002, at Bolles Canyon in Kelley Park in McCook with the Rev. Daniel Spearow of the Culbertson United Methodist Church officiating.

Parents of the couple are Phyl and Trish Rippen of Culbertson, Monte and Mary Hazlitt of McCook and Mick and Scott Minnick of Bartley.

Grandparents of the couple are Gordon and Frary Rippen of Culbertson, Harold Talley of McCook, Maxine Talley of Culbertson, Bob and Ann Hazlitt of Sidney, Roberta Brooks of Bartley and the late Gerald Brooks.

Joni Rippen of Kearney and Tara Kucera of Eugene, Ore., sisters of the bride, served as maid and matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Bridget Matson of McCook, Angie Morthole of Lincoln, cousin of the bride, Krystal Weber and Lindsey Hazlitt of McCook, sisters of the bridegroom.

Kelly Semroska of Cheyenne, Wyo., served as the bride's personal attendant.

Mitch Hazlitt of McCook, brother of the bridegroom, served as the best man. The bridegroomsmen were Darren Pollmann of McCook, Jarod Moeller of Chadron, Doug Juelfs of Fort Collins, Ty Twarling of Lincoln and Clayton Weber of McCook, brother-in-law of the bridegroom.

The ushers were Scott Barger of Culbertson, cousin of the bride, Luke Krizek, Jarod Hilker and Bob Schilz, all of McCook. Tyler Lemke of Kearney, nephew of the bride, served as honorary usher.

Michael Nickel of Minden was the soloist.

The guestbook attendant was Jolene Holscher of Ogallala. The reception was at D's Place in McCook. The host and hostesses were Don and Linda Eckles of Papillion, aunt and uncle of the bride.

The cake servers were Linda Eckles of Papillion, aunt of the bride, Cindy Wilson of Culbertson, Kim Brooks and Darlene Brooks, both of Bartley, Lisa Gartner of Lebanon, Tenn., and Patti Brooks of Columbus, all aunts of the bridegroom.

The gift carriers were Jeremy, Justin and Jordan Brooks of Bartley and Morgan Gartner of Lebanon, Tenn., all cousins of the bridegroom.

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Culbertson High School and a 2001 graduate of Chadron State College. She is employed at Samway Floor Covering and Furniture in McCook. The bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of McCook High School and a 1999 graduate of Chadron State College. He is employed at McCook Contracting.

The couple is making their home in McCook.
