Monday, May 20, 2002

Olsson Associates, the engineering company working with the city of McCook in solving its water problems, met with the Concerned Citizens group Friday morning to discuss the citizens group's proposed plan of action.

A letter to representatives of the Concerned Citizens Group from Olsson Asssociates included a list of questions concerning the groups plan to redisgn the city's current well field and use point-of-entry devices in individual homes.

"This list is not intended to be adversarial, but we will need to set down and talk through these issues and hopefully come into agreement on some items," said the letter to Concerned Citizens.

"Please remember the overall goal of this project and our firm is to find the best long term, cost effective solution to the ongoing water problems for the City of McCook and meet all standards for drinking water."

In a letter to the engineering firm, Concerned Citizens said, "It is our intention and our strong feeling our plan would solve the problems concerning an adequate supply of "quality'"drinking water for the city of McCook."
