Busy weekend for local officers

Tuesday, September 3, 2002

Area law enforcement agencies spent a busy Labor Day weekend answering domestic disturbance and vandalism calls and breaking up parties around the area.

The McCook Public Safety Center received calls ranging from burglary and vandalism to criminal mischief and assault over the three day weekend.

Red Willow Sheriff Gene Mahon said his department responded to several domestic disturbance calls as well as several noise complaints regarding loud parties.

Only one injury accident was reported in Red Willow County. At 2:03 p.m. Sunday, a vehicle driven by Patricia Louise Didemenico of Westminster, Colo. was involved in a one-vehicle rollover accident two and a half miles west of McCook on U.S. Highway 6-34.

Didemenico was transported to Community Hospital of McCook with minor injuries.

Sgt. Ted Mashek of the Nebraska State Patrol said Didemenico received minor injuries, "because she was wearing her seatbelt." The vehicle was estimated at a total loss.
