MS Walk

Members and supporters of the McCook Multiple Sclerosis Support Group show off the "Messages From the Heart" on the "Wall of Hope" received from walkers and pledge-makers Saturday in honor or in memory of someone with multiple sclerosis. The walk, around and through Norris Park, raised more than $2,000 with pledges still coming in. Participants include (from left) Beth Maris of Wauneta, Karen Meints of McCook, Joann Nemechek of McCook and Marcia Overton of McCook. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Walk for MS. Twelve corporate or local business sponsors supported the effort with pledges, door prizes and refreshments for walkers. "Pledges are still welcome," said Nemechek, walk organizer.
