'Colors of Nebraska' fill artist's palette

Muschi Mues of Cambridge is the featured artist at Lincoln Federal Savings during the months of October and November.

Mues paints in all mediums and her style often reflects a limited palette of three colors.

She prefers to paint in subtle colors, which she calls "colors of Nebraska," in landscapes, still lifes and portraits.

Her work has been displayed in a variety of public and private collections throughout the United States and Europe.

She has been a member of the McCook Art Guild for 22 years and she is a signature member of the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC).

Mues has won numerous awards, including the Grumbacher Medal for her painting titled "Oma."

Oma is an award winning watercolor by Mues.

She teaches classes and workshops in Southwest Nebraska and has taught many other art guild members.

She is a native of Germany. She moved to the U.S. in 1964 and has been a resident of Cambridge for 25 years. Her husband is Alan Mues and she has one daughter named Kristina, who is married.

Mues works and teaches from Studio 38 in Holbrook.

Lincoln Federal Savings Bank is located at 211 Norris Avenue. The bank is open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
