Rebels 16 softball team falls to NP Sensations

NORTH PLATTE -- The McCook Rebels 16 and under girls fastpitch softball team lost to the North Platte Sensations 16 and under squad 6-1 Wednesday night at North Platte.

The Rebels' game against the North Platte Sensations 14 and under team was canceled because of rain.

"The girls had a off night against the Sensations 16 and under team," said coach Earl Roberts.

The Rebels' next games will be in Hastings Saturday for a national qualifier. The Rebels play Omaha Suburban Black at 10:15 a.m., followed by Omaha Suburban Red at noon.

After these two games, the double elimination part of the tournament begins.

The National Tournament is slated for the end of July in St. Louis.

North Platte Sensations 010 140 0 -- 6 Andrea Soden, Kayla Wilson and Courtney Carter each singled.

Taryn Placzek pitched, allowing 11 hits, striking out 4 and walking 3.
