State Middle School Track Meet in Gothenburg, May 15th
I receieved this news a few weeks back from my son Rob's father-in-law Dave Clark, a Track enthusiest and man who is involved in the staging of quality meets in Gothenburg. To my knowledge, this is the first meet of it's kind during the school year and it has been sanctioned by the NSAA and is ready to make it's debut May 15th.
Personally, I am very exited about this inaugual State Meet for Middle School boys and girls becuase it showcases our future Track stars. This type of undertaking is very involved and takes some high quality planning, but the individuals who are staging this event in Gothenburg have the expertise to pull this baby off. I recall running in a few meets in Gothenburg as a high schooler and they always staged a top notch presentation and had quality people running the show.
Listed below is the press release Dave forwarded to me and I want to share it with you. I strongly urge middle school coaches to hop on the wagon and support this track meet. It is my sincere hope this is a huge success. We'll be checking in with Dave and Jim Clark in the upcoming days and relay the progress on entries received. Do me a favor and help spread the word!

All Junior High Coaches in the State will be asked to post there result to the Athletic.Net web site. Coaches currently not using Athletic.net will find that it is a time-saving, organizational tool provided free of charge. This web site cuts the time needed for meet entries, information sent to local papers, and aids in track record keeping.

Meet Limitation: Coaches please note that a junior high athlete may only participate in eight tracks meets during the Jr. High outdoor season. If your athlete is a qualifier, please monitor that he/she does not surpass this total.
Athlete standings will be posted on the athletic.net website so coaches, parents, and athletes can stay informed about qualifying standards. On Monday, May 3, an email attachment will be sent to the qualifying schools with the Participation Confirmation Form. The field will consist of the top 16 athletes with confirmation of participation (it is likely that an athlete ranked 22 could still be invited to participate due to higher ranked athletes not being able to attend) via an email sent to the Athletic Director and Jr. High Coaches of all schools in Nebraska.
Entry Fee: $5.00 per Event.
Awards: Medals will be presented to the top 6 in each event. Additionally, an Outstanding Male and Female Athlete Award will be presented.
