How Close Are We? (Part 2)

Dear friend,

INTRO

There are so many indicators, if you know your Bible and keep current on world news, that tell us the Rapture is literally ANY DAY now. The rapture occurs AT LEAST seven years BEFORE the second coming of Jesus Christ. Again, I am excerpting this from the book HOW CLOSE ARE WE.

IN THE DAYS OF THOSE KINGS

"Had John known only one of the verses from Daniel to which we have referred, he would have understood that the time was not right for Messiah to set up His kingdom. that verse also presents one of the prophecies whereby we know for certain that the Roman Empire must be revived the (modern E.U.) ." It is the culmination of Daniels interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream about the strange image with a "head of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, and his legs of iron, his feet (with 10 toes representing 10 kings) part of iron and part of clay" (Daniel 2:31-33).

PART 2

"Inspired of God, Daniel explained that the four parts of the image, each of a different substance, represented four world kingdoms: "Thou, O king (Nebuchadnezzar)...art this head of gold. And after thee shall arise another kingdom (Medo- Persian) inferior to thee, and another third kingdom (Grecian) of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron (Daniel 2;37-40). We see these four world kingdoms again in ch. 7, where further details about each of them are given. There they are depicted as four beasts. The fourth (Roman) has ten horns and we are told what they signify; "The 10 horns out of this kingdom are 10 kings that shall arise" (Daniel 7:24). That these 10 kings pertain to the future revived Roman Empire (the modern E.U.) is evident from the fact that no such division ever occurred in the past.

PART 3

The interpretation that the 10 toes of the image signify 10 kings (Prime Ministers?) yet to arise is also clear from the explanation Daniel gives in his interpretation of the image in ch. 2. Finally he declares in that key verse (2:44): "And in the days of these kings (represented by the 10 toes) shall the God of Heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and (it) shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever." Read Rev. 19. In as much as the Roman Empire was never ruled by 10 kings or co-emperors, it must be revived under 10 heads for this prophecy to be fulfilled. Certainly there were not ten kings ruling the empire in the days of Jesus. Therefore, on the bais of THIS ONE VERSE, the rabbis, the disciples, and so great a prophet as John the Baptist should have known that it was not time for the Messiah to set up His kingdom. Daniel 2:44 is very explicit that the millennial kingdom will not be established except "in the days of these kings." No reasonable interpretation can be adopted to change that simple fact.

PART 4

That the Roman Empire, as already noted, was divided into two segments, as depicted by the two legs of the image, is a matter of history. The division was also religious and continues to manifest itself to this day in the separation between Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. This breach will more than likely not be healed until the Antichrist inaugurates his new world religion. That we are, however, already moving rapidly in that direction seems evident. It is also clear from numerous scriptures (which we'll consider later) that religion will play as important a role in the revived Roman Empire as it did in the ancient one. The close partnership between the and emperors will of necessity have its parallels in the key role to be played by the Roman pontiff in assisting the Antichrist in his reign."
