Robert G. 'Bob' Bonge

LINCOLN, Nebraska -- Robert G. "Bob" Bonge, 68, of Lincoln, died Nov. 25, 2012, in Boston, Massachusetts, of complications following cancer surgery.

Mr. Bonge was born Sept. 17, 1944, to Lloyd and Margaret (Dickinson) Bonge in Plainview, Nebraska.

He was a graduate of Wayne State College and served in the armed services during the Vietnam Conflict. On Dec. 9, 1972, Bob married Patricia Devoy in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob worked for Parker Hannifin in McCook, Nebraska for 33 years, retiring in 2009.

Bob served the community of McCook in numerous capacities; St. Patrick's School Board, Community Hospital Board of Directors and the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

He was a YMCA Volunteer Coach.

In Lincoln, he worked for State Farm and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Bob loved golf, fishing, bridge and books. He was also a loyal Husker and Kansas City Royals fan.

Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia of Lincoln; children, Susan (Travis) Payne of Bellevue, Michael (June) Bonge of Olathe, Kansas, Joseph Bonge of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Deven, Aidan and Noah Payne, Kyra Bonge; brother, James (Leola) Bonge of Bennington; sister, Judy (Ken) Wilson of Plainview; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln 68510.

A rosary will be said at 7 p,.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick's School in McCook, NE or the McCook College Foundation.
