Sculpture raffle

Wednesday, November 14, 2012
Courtsey photo Sondra Johnson, who created the "Going Home" sculpture, stands with Nathan Witt, former Chaplain, U.S. Army Reserves. Witt drew the winning raffle ticket for the sculpture, who was Truman Rossman of Atkinson, Nebraska. For the past nine months, Cambridge Unit 199 of the America Legion Auxiliary has had a state-wide raffle for the patriotic sculpture created by ALA member Jonson. The sculpture is a replica of the four-foot tall "Going Home" bronze in Norris Park. More than $500 raised by the raffle will be used to benefit Nebraska veterans and active duty servicemen and women. The drawing was at the Veterans Day dinner for the Cambridge American Legion and Legion Auxiliary.
