Wednesday, November 7, 2012

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Change is a good thing at Curves of McCook; whether it is making modifications to your lifestyle, seeing a decrease on the scale or a change of ownership.

Curves of McCook is embracing change and has announced it is now under new ownership. Bev and Russ Schlager took possession of the club on Aug. 28.

"I'm so excited to become part of the McCook Curves community," said Schlager. "I'm looking forward to helping the women in our community reach amazing results, both physical and emotional, through our Curves diet, workout program and support network. With change comes progress!"

A Grand Opening will be held the Week of Dec. 3-7, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and 3 p.m.-7 p.m., daily. Exciting changes to the club will be unveiled, including a new location at 416 Norris Avenue.

Bev is a native of McCook and participated and coached voluntarily in high school athletics. She owned a Jazzercise franchise for three years, where she instructed classes in Kearney, Nebraska, the Denver Metro area, and Conifer and Evergreen, Colorado. She has completed the Curves Basic Training program, is Cleveland Clinic Certified, CPR certified, and Zumba Basic certified.

With the average person gaining three pounds a year, a reasonable workout regimen that can fit into today's busy lifestyle of work and family is critical to help combat diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, heart disease and other health risks that women can face.

Curves' exercise program consists of thirty minutes of exercise three times a week, during which participants work all major muscle groups and receive a great cardio workout. It includes all five components of a complete exercise program: warm-up, strength training, cardio, cool down, and stretching.

In addition to a proven workout plan, Curves of McCook offers various programs to help motivate and assist women in obtaining a healthy lifestyle, including: CurvesSmart™ personal coaching system, a new technology pioneered by Curves that offers a precision designed workout, moment to moment feedback and progress reports to keep members motivated while they work out; the Curves Complete weight-loss program that provides members with diet and fitness information, tools, experts and motivation to achieve their weight-loss goals; and Curves Circuit with Zumba, a 30 minute class that mixes the moves of Zumba with the proven strength training of Curves for one wildly effective workout.
