BARTLEY, Nebraska -- Marion Teter was a farmer. Marion was born as the second child of Ora F. and Hannah F. (Burton) Teter on Feb. 27, 1924, in Frontier County, Nebraska. Marion had eight brothers and sisters, Delbert (deceased), Harriet, Stuart, Cleora, Marilyn, Doris, Elton and Delvin. Later, three more children were added to this family: Bonnie Jean (deceased), Duane Allison and William Allen.

Marion loved the farm and farm life. He loved having people visit the farm and see the animals. He hand milked his cows, sheared his own sheep and worked horses in the field. He also worked as a clerk and ring man at the local auction barns and auctioneers, working for Tri-state Livestock in McCook for nearly twenty five years. Marion also loved baseball and played on several local country and town teams.
