CURTIS, Nebraska -- Robert "Scott" Magee, 56, died April 29, 2012, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Nebraska, as the result of an auto accident.


He was born Jan. 27, 1956, in McCook, Nebraska, to Leland John Magee and Geraldine Evelyn Magee.

He entered the Army in 1978, but due to his father's failing health, he returned to help run the family farm.

He worked as a foreman for Weeth Feedlot.

Survivors include his son, Josh Magee of Curtis; daughter, Haley Magee of Hastings and grandson, Charlie Scott Walker Magee; step-son, Elliot Garrison of Anchorage, Alaska; mother, Geraldine Magee of Curtis; brother, Mike Magee and wife, Nancy of Clarion, Iowa; sisters, Valeria Hicks and husband, Jim of Curtis, Janet Wells and husband, Nick of Colby, Kansas, Kristie Cocrane and husband, Tim of Cornelius, North Carolina; nephews, nieces and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leland John Magee.

Services will be Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Curtis, with the Rev. Derrick Brown officiating. Burial will be Monday, May 7, 2012, at 10:30 a.m at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, May 4, 2012, from 1- 8 p.m. at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis.

Memorials may be given to the family for a scholarship for his grandson and left at or sent to Curtis State Bank, Curtis, Nebraska.
